OnePlus 9 Pro Specifications, Price and Release Date

It’s a Tech Time Story Update and today we’re going to be talking about the OnePlus 9 Pro. So OnePlus is expected to launch OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in March next month. We’ve already seen some hands-on photos of the OnePlus 9, which showed that OnePlus isn’t planning anything drastic with the new handset other than redesigning the camera module and using larger sensors. Today we have the first practical photos of the OnePlus 9 Pro, courtesy of Dave2D, which show at first glance that OnePlus could take an important step in camera hardware by partnering with OnePlus Hasselblad, a ridiculously expensive company that makes camera equipment. I’ll explain in a moment whether the OnePlus camera quality is on par with Samsung, Apple, and others. But first, let’s take a look at the phone itself.

OnePlus 9 Pro Reviews

not as OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro has a curved display with the hole-hole selfie camera on the left. There’s also a slight difference in the frame shape for the alarm controller and the on / off switch, which honestly looks better than the OnePlus 8 Pro. Oddly enough, the phone’s About section shows 11 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. Since this is a prototype of the phone, it’s understandable why certain information is strange. The final retail product will most likely have 12GB of RAM instead. Incidentally, the display settings show QHD + at 120Hz refresh with the option to set it to FHD + or have the phone automatically switch to the appropriate resolution to save battery.

OnePlus 9 Pro Camera

The camera module shows two larger camera sensors and two smaller ones with circular iPhone-style bumps. There’s no information on the specs of these cameras, but there’s no periscope zoom camera here as you’d expect from a flagship 2021 phone. However, the camera’s user interface includes a “tilt-shift” mode. If you don’t know what tilt-shift photography is, it’s basically a creative and unique type of photography that manipulates the camera to make a life-size place or subject look like a miniature model, like You can see.

The biggest upside, however, is the Hasselblad branding, and some believe that OnePlus partnering with Hasselblad could improve the phone’s camera quality, which is possible. OnePlus phones aren’t known for their cameras, so Hasselblad’s expertise could change that perception. On the other hand, Hasselblad has also worked with Motorola in the past Moto Z camera mod and that didn’t work out really well as it got pretty average reviews. So don’t expect anything spectacular with this new partnership, but what didn’t work for Motorola may work for OnePlus, you never know. As for the price of the OnePlus 9 Pro around $749.

I mean, OnePlus has worked with Leica in the past, but that didn’t work out well for them. On the other hand, the Huawei Leica partnership has really changed things for the smartphone camera. Huawei was ahead of others in the camera department with things like night mode, periscope zoom, and more. We’ll see how this OnePlus Hasselblad partnership works. The difference between the camera module of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro is the number of cameras and the Hasselblad branding. Let me know what you think about it in the comments and keep pinching!
