It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has passed various regulatory agencies in Asia, which has revealed the type of battery capacity we can expect from the foldable phone that hits the market this year.SamMobile looked at the relevant documents and found that a larger and smaller battery pack in the flip phone are combined to provide a total battery capacity of 3,300 mAh.
It is exactly the same battery capacity as the original Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which launched in February 2020. Assuming Samsung implemented some tweaks under the hood, overall battery life should be better.Unfortunately, SamMobile’s documentation doesn’t reveal any further technical details – and as with all leaks, you don’t take them as official yet – but we now have at least an idea of the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s battery capacity.
Fantastic turn around
The 3,300 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is enough to get a day going, but not more, as we explained in our test. It needs to illuminate both the 6.7-inch main display and the smaller 1.1-inch screen on the back.
Don’t panic because you didn’t miss the Galaxy Z Flip 2. Rumor has it that Samsung will count the 5G iteration of the fold as the second edition and go straight to 3 to align with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is also expected this year.Given that the original was released in February 2020 and those regulatory documents have only just surfaced, the arrival of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 appears to be imminent, although analysts expect a launch later this year.
One of the rumors we’ve heard is that the external display could grow in size, adding up to 3 inches from corner to corner. We’ll have to wait to be sure, but that would also put pressure on the internal battery.
